The present research discussed the site selection of the wharf and anti-icing measures in the Tumen seaport by means of investigation and survey of the port construction in the frost region, contrastive analysis of the calculated and the tested ice load, and numerical simulation as well. The main content and results are as follows: first by field survey of the port construction in the frost region, the principle for the site selection of the seaport and proper wharf structural style were summarized. Second though the comparison of the ice load calculated from the empirical formulas and values measured from the ice tests, a recommended computational formula of the ice load on the hydraulic structure proper for the wharf in the Tumen seaport was put forward. Third based on the analysis of the weather and the water-land condition along the water front in the lower Tumen River, the location of the seaport was preliminarily determined. Fourth the structure of the wharf was suggested to be gravity solid block structure. And fifth the anti-icing measures of the wharf were presented.
