The Research On The Influence Of Wheel Alignment Parameters On Tire Wear

Wheel alignment parameters anomaly is one of the high-frequency faults when the car is running, especially the sideslip caused by the mismatch of wheel camber and wheel toe will further intensify the tire wear. Taking a kind of mid-level car with abnormal tire wear as the research object, this paper analyzes their wheel alignment parameters to identify the main reasons causing abnormal tire wear and puts forward the optimization measures.For the tire wear becomes worse with the increasingly mileages, this paper adopts polynomial stepwise regression method to analyze the function relation between mileage and wheel alignment parameters, and find out the wheel camber and wheel toe exceed standard in the initial stage of the car use.Then, this paper adopts Adams/car modeling to analyze the influence of wheel hop on alignment parameters and determines the mismatch of wheel camber and wheel toe is the main factor causing the abnormal tire wear. According to front wheel slip principle and applying double skateboard sideslip principle, this paper experiments on the corresponding camber when the car sideslip is minimum. At last, through optimizing and adjusting the wheel camber and wheel toe, this paper determines the most optimizing wheel alignment angle, which provides the theoretical reference for studying how to reduce the abnormal tire wear.
