The Identification Study Of Streets’ Color

The street has its integrity and authenticity of the certain degree, reflecting well the vitality and the development level of the city. The color of the street plays a decisive role in the construction of the image of blocks and streets, as well as of the cities. The Chinese city has its color "thousands of cities with a single color", and color of historic streets is losing its characteristics. In addition, the continuous change of the environment and the constant upgrade of the internal colors are all making the identification study of colors of historic streets is problem in urgent need to be solved.The study takes the history background, style evolution, and color characteristics as the elements, making an effective recognition of street image by color, making direct expression on the historic image. For example, the choice of the main color tone is a positioning of the street function and the regional culture characteristics. It is the most direct media of people’s image perception of historic street. At last, under the multiple aesthetic outlook of the coexistence of the traditional and modern colors, combined with China’s historic street development situation, it explores the color protection and deductive methods.This paper is an interdisciplinary research, covering theoretical foundations as the color science, urban planning, architecture, and psychology and so on, referring to many reference literature and field research, using the scientific analysis method as the design considerations of historic street colors, among which the color survey and analysis work is also an important link of color study, which is an unique feature of this paper.The first part:tracing back of the current important domestic and foreign color theory researches and the expressive system study theories; illustrating the status quo of street color research and relevant experiences, and pointing out the importance and necessity of the protection and deduction of historic street color.The second part:pointing out the research method and analysis theory of the historic street color, establishing a color database, forming the color identification strategy of historic street.The third part:select the Hengshan Road with a long history as the research object, carries on the validating discussion of the new method proposed in this paper, with the formation of this paper.Regarding the perfect and nature degree of this paper, it is still at its primary stage, needing to be tried, revised, and developed in practice.
