With the rapid development of express railway, passenger dedicated line and urban rail transit, the internal quality and appearance quality of rail welding joints play more and more important roles in the safety and confort to the passengers. Usually, we do some post-weld treatments on the welding joints after welding to guarantee their quality.At present, there exist series of large processing facilities that we can use to guarantee the quality of the welding joints in the base, however, the equipments we use in the site are some small and simple machines, these machines has some disadvantages, such as low automation, low resolution, poor quality and low efficiency. To improve this situation we should develop a numerical control system that includes normalizing machine, straightening machine and grinding machine which is suit for the site welding, this is all important to ensure line quality, improve construction efficiency, enhance the level of China’s railway construction equipment.This article studied site rail welding joints normalizing, straightening, grinding and other post-processing quality control key technologies from the perspective of system engineering, designed and developed a new type of post-weld treatment system for site rail welding joints. Centered on grinding machine, we used the equipments in national railway, subway and weld rail factory to master the request in the site, reliability, availability, quality and efficiency of the equipment. During the trial process, we recorded the failures of the equipment and other obstacles, and improved the equipment to gradually meet the construction requirements.The results showed that:the operating efficiency of the new type of post-weld treatment system can match the welding process, the quality is good. We can gain smooth, neat and mirroring joints after grinding with the new machine. The flatness of the joints can satisfy the "rail welding" TB/T1632.1 standards. The new machine changed the status quo that the low joints offen occurred after grinding with small machines. However, there exist some breakdowns and inadaptability of the new machine, after some improvements, the grinding machine can satisfy the requirements of the site and the factory, the quality is good and the efficiency meet the requirements.The flatness measurement systems of the grinding machine can run normally, but the accuracy and stability of it need to be improved...
