Visible Light Communication technology (VLC) is the use of Visible Light as information carrier, and direct transmission of optical signals in the air Communication mode..It has high stability, long life, high light efficiency,good security, low power consumption, green environmental protection, high eliability, has become a new generation of lighting source. At the same time, the core lighting units is a Light Emitting Diode, has the features such as fast response speed, communication with Eric, So it has become one of the communication carrier and an important carrier of wireless ommunication.On the other hand, every car just has the only’identity card’in this world -- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which contains an important message about vehicle manufacturers, age, type, body type and code, engine code and assembly location,etc. When the car needs maintenance, high fees, parking fees, vehicle inspection and other places, the VIN code needs to correctly be interpreted.and usually we can use artificial, bluetooth communication or image recognition method for the identification of the vehicle, It is time-consuming and complex, not easy automation management shortcomings. So,in order to ensure it fast, accuracy, uniqueness, the article designed an identification system about vehicle messages based on visible-light communication just throught the vehicle’s headlamps.The article designs an identification system through the vehicle beam based on the visible light communication, which is consisted of transmitting device, communication links and receiver identification system overall architecture,The identity recognition system includes transmitting device and receiving device, a communication link.Transmitting device is mainly composed of a controller, the vehicle headlamp controller, communication link for the spare space, Receiving device comprises an optical receiving lens, photoelectric detector, signal processing, display and storage etc.Communication use the switch button (On-Off Keying, OOK) modulation technique and self coding structure of communication protocols, to send the vehicle VIN modulation code through the far light emission to the atmosphere. The light signals transmit through the filter into the receiving device, after a weak signal amplification, filtered, compared into the chip for being decoded, displayed and storaged.and then to be read to achieve identification of vehicle.This system has many advantages such as lighting, communication and hidden, It can provide a broad application prospects.in the specific industry and environment for the mobile vehicle’s location and recognition, communication etc. The computer simulation and physical experiment tests show that the white light communication could realize reliable data link and communication under low speed (1 KHZ) communication rate, the article has carried on the beneficial exploration, and has certain technical reference value for the vehicle identification system based on visible light communication.
