The increasing number of the elderly and disabled puts forward higher requirement for social care.Electric wheelchair as a mean of transport for the elderly and disabled receive more and more favor. Foreign electric wheelchair popularity is higher, technology is relatively mature, wheelchair for multi function, high reliability, good comfort, but the price is too expensive to our ordinary residents to accep.In our country,research on wheelchair is later while the wheelchair exist many problems such as single function,low reliability,riding uncomfortable and so on.For these problems of electric wheelchair,this paper has designed a solar electric wheelchair for the elderly and disabled,which can use in district roads and urban roads. The wheelchair is not only need to achieve the basic walking function, but also need to have the characteristic of ride comfort, safety, convenience charge, low cost, high reliability.Based on the above point,the main contents for this article as the follow:1.This article analyzed the defects about existing electric wheelchair,while analyzed function requirement of wheelchair about person who use wheelchair. We holistic designed and analysed the solar electric wheelchair.2.Against the problem of poor comfort on erlctric wheelchair,this article used the theory of ergonomically to research the comfort sitting position on the human body.Then we researched the seat comfort and designed a adjustable backrest angle To improve the safety of wheelchair,we designed automatic adjustment mechanism wheelchair gravity position3.Tomeet the green design and improve the wheelchair endurance,this paper selected and designed the parameter for the main components of the power transmission part,then designed the solar charging system In addation,to increase the battery charge capacity per unit time and reduce battery panels on the space occupied in the wheelchair, we designed a solar panel folding mechanism.4. To simplify the wheelchair structure and ensure reasonable of frame structure,this article carried out the finite element analysis for frame structure.5.To improve the reliability of the wheelchair,we designed the solar electric wheelchair control system by the modular design principle.This paper mainly selected main control chip、control handle and motor driver,then designed the hardware and software.At last,this paper experimental test the solar charging system,mainly include charging voltage, charging current, light intensity, the battery terminal voltage and so on.Experimental studies have shown that the solar electric wheelchair is reliability, safety and comfort. Solar charging system can improve endurance and save energy. Solar electric wheelchair can satisfy the travel needs for the elderly and the disabled, it has good practical value.
