In recent years, highway and railway and other transportation facilities were developed rapidly throughout the country especially in the western regions. In the process of transportation construction, inevitably, high fill embankment are produced artificially. Because of the lack of necessary protective measures, these high fill tend to destroy incidentally, which result in severe slope stability problems such as the failure of deep slope because of load and shallow sliding and soil erosion caused by water erosion. Currently, protective measures such as anchor and plaster protection are taken. But limitations such as shot service life and poor economy and appearance problem are exist. Common ecological method such as grass and bush planting can only protect superficial layer of slope. Tree planting reinforcement technology can dealing with these issues effectively.Arbor have not only dense thin root in shallow of soil but thick root which go deep into the soil. The two types of root play different roles in protecting slope in shallow and deep ways. Planting trees on slope can also refresh the environment which is destroyed by construction and purify air and beautify the landscape along the road, which raise the level of road service. The applicability of the plant protection has for a long time. Protective reinforcement effect can grows day by day with growing of plant. Plant protection has the very good economical efficiency, it is cheaper than other engineering methods.Therefore, this paper study the mechanism of tree planting reinforcement technology. By using numerical calculation method influence on slope stability of arrangement of plant on the slope are studied. The main research contents and results are as follows:â‘  Research systematically analyzed the role between plant roots and slope soil mechanics. Plant root system on soil slope reinforcement is mainly due to the plastic strain under the action of load and displacement, which result in local crack. This function make the root produces tension, which is passed on to the soil to protect soil from damage.â‘¡ Through further research of the two types of root, the reinforcement of two types of root have approximate principle in different range and extent. Shallow root system provide reinforcement which is similar to steel fabric to improve the cohesion of soil; deep root system provide reinforcement which is similar to anchor to prevent deep sliding.â‘¢ By combining theory to establish the proper ANSYS finite element analysis model tree planting reinforcement theory are analyzed. The reinforcement effect is mainly associated with the plant location and root distribution depth of plant, planting trees at the bottom and top of slope increase the slope stability obviously. Different slope gradient determine the position of the sliding surface, the effective reinforcement range of slope gradient, the scope of the effective reinforce plant is smaller.
