As the rolling stone-bridge pier accidents frequently occur in our country in recent years, the casualties, property- loss and environmental damage become inestimable. While the design suggestions for mountainous Bridges subjected to rolling stone hit this kind of accident are not given by specification for design of highway bridge utility. Although the Specification for design of highway tunnel and Specification for design of railway tunnel have mentioned the experience in calculation method, they have not given the formula of rolling stone force. Thus, Rolling Stones disaster in the field of highway Bridges in our country has not taken seriously at present. Based on the above background, this paper made the following main research content.① Analyze the component size of scale test and material using the theory of similar. Research on rolling stone-bridge pier, analyze for the dynamic response and damage form of bridge pier in the process of impact, reflect the dynamic response of the lower part of bridge structure by external impact force and study the factors affecting the damage of piers From the perspective of test.② Introduce and compare the normal dynamic concrete material model, analyzed and compared the calculation results of Block model, the HJC model and linear elastic model by establishing the finite element model, finally, chose the material of HJC model for modeling of concrete material model in this paper.③ Simulated and analyzed the whole dynamic process of bridge pier under the rolling stone by establishing the finite element model, at the same time, obtained several indicators for dynamic response : impact force history curve, pier displacement history curve, acceleration history curve, stress history curve of the piers and the situation of pier damage.④ Analyzed the main factors influencing the bridge damage, studied the effect of rolling stone shape on the bridge pier failure pattern, Research the whole process from local damage to the evolution, analyzed the connection between the local damage and the overall damage of bridge pier.
