With the continuous development of our social economy, frame-shear walls especially the tall frame-shear walls are rapidly increasing in our cities, occupying a great proportion in the modern society. Earthquake and other natural disasters are inevitable. Due to the lack of seismic damage information of the tall frame-shear walls, the consequence is unimaginable under the damage of strong earthquake. Therefore, it’s necessary for us to analyze the structural vulnerability of the frame-shear walls especially the tall frame-shear walls. First of all, the paper introduces the concept of structural vulnerability, summarizes the research of structural vulnerability in the developing stage at home and abroad, and puts forward a method of "push-over" based on the ground motion parameter to analyze structural vulnerability; Secondly, the paper elaborates the principle of the structure vulnerability, introduces the concept of Seismic demand spectrum and capacity curve of the structure. Through these principles, we can get the steps of structure vulnerability analysis; Finally, the paper chooses a 27th frame-shear wall as the foundation. There are many factors affect the structure performance, for example the rate of holes in the shear wall, the rate of shear wall, the height the bottom layer, the thickness of the shear wall and so on, the paper creates different analysis models including different height of the bottom layer and different thickness of shear walls. The paper uses Midas gen to analyze the Push-over on these structures under the severe earthquake. Through the result, we’ll get the change of three aspects:inherent period, horizontal displacement, interlayer displacement angle. According to the research, we can establish seismic demand spectrum and seismic capacity curve under a coordinate axis to get performance point. Vulnerability matrix is received on the basis of performance point and vulnerability curve. Results show that the bottom layer increases, the structure becomes softer, cycle is longer, the probability of structures to get each damage state is bigger. With the decrease of the thickness of the shear wall, we found that the aseismic capacity of the structure declined, the probability of structures to get each damage state is bigger. After analysis we can found that the decrease of the external shear wall is greater than the decrease of the internal shear wall.
