The steam turbine is a rotating machinery which can convert the energy into mechanical power, widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, shipping and other departments, directly drive all kinds of pump, fan, compressor and propellers of ship and so on. For the cogeneration steam turbine, due to the thermoelectric load changes frequently, which will cause the exhaust pressure instability, and cause sharp fluctuations in temperature and pressure inside the turbine, these fluctuations will affect the normal work of the turbine rotor, even some mechanical fault. So the research on thermoelectric load changes how to influence the related faults of steam turbine has the extremely vital significance. This paper through analysis to the turbine structure, working principle and a variety of common faults, research the affect on a variety of steam turbine common faults when back pressure changes. In order to find out the cogeneration steam turbine running at full load, the influence of the thermoelectric load changes to the turbine rotor, analyzed under different thermoelectric load conditions, the trend of the exhaust pressure, and analysis of the temperature and pressure’s change in the steam turbine brought about by the exhaust pressure’s change as well as the impact of these changes in temperature and pressure brought to the turbine rotor. The conclusion that due to the thermoelectric load change will cause the turbine rotor thermal bending and axial thrust imbalance. And analysis the critical fault change trend under different working conditions, find out the change rule, finally through the rational allocation of thermoelectric load and a series of methods to prevent and solve the critical fault may occur.
