Corrugated box’s made of corrugated cardboard, is a renewable and easy recycling green packaging material. Due to its light-weight, high strength, goods protection and storage convenience, the corrugated box is widely used and has a good development prospect. To improve the efficiency of design and molding, corrugated carton manufacturing enterprises design and plate making of the packaging carton with CAD/CAM technology. This paper aimed to establish the characteristics of the box type library based on Solid Edge software, and simulate the three-dimensional molding of corrugated box by CAD/CAM software. The research also studied the compression strength of corrugated box through simulation model to provide necessary theoretical basis for corrugated box production enterprises and packaging designers.According to the latest FEFCO standard, the two-dimensional graph of 02,03,04,05,06,07 six kinds of box type and show shelf were drawn. The correlation regulars between inside dimension of different corrugated carton box and finish size during molding process were summarized. The correlation among inside dimension of corrugated box L, B, H and thickness T and the internal/external flaps were established. The parameterized process of different box type was summarized and it can accurately express the expanded view of the corrugated box.In this paper, the problems existing in the bending process during forming three-dimensional stereogram were found and resolved, the effect of bending command on molding process was analyzed from bending method, thickness of the plate, board size and bending radius. An offset distance moved to the fixed end of the bending line was optimized. Come to the conclusion:If the bending line offset to the fixed end were 0.26T-0.05, the bending problem existing in process that molding from 2D to 3D may be resolved, the three-dimension box model would form accurately according to the bending order of Solid Edge. Stereogram and engineering drawings based on Solid Edge were imported into CPDS software and debugged. The accuracy of the models was verified.Based on markey formula, the structure parameter of 0201 box type was calculated using the finite element method. Compression strength correction coefficient Υ of partial 02 box type was revised by the own simulation analysis function of software and validated by experimental methods. The results show that: in addition to the effect of cardboard transport, proofing process and the differences of experimental conditions, the carton structure and edgewise compression strength is the main factors that affect the deformation. Certain theoretical basis for the compression strength correction coefficient of non-0201 box type was provided, but the applicability of markey formula on the non-0201 carton still needs further research.
