Power system is composed of power plants, transmission lines, substations, distribution line and user metering equipment such as a complex power supplying system, substation is the hub of Power system, is shouldering functions of the transformation power voltage and distribution of power.With the rapid development of economy, a lot of local’s demand for power is growing rapidly, in the industrial agglomeration area, economy developed areas and densely populated areas is especially. While the power demand of large and concentrated area is often economically developed areas, land resources are very valuable, it is difficult to find a big square place to construction of traditional substation, and the traditional substation construction cycle is long, it is sometimes difficult to meet a sudden increase power demand in these area. Therefore, needing a new substation technology of rapid deployment and land high rate The distribution substation is produced under this kind of background, the characteristics of its flexible layout and rapid deployment to meet the demand for power demand of special area.Paper introduces the features and construction background of distribution type 110kV substation, and then Guang Yang 110kV substation for instance, to study the design of the distribution substation. By calculating the power flow and short circuit current, to determine parameters of primary equipment and configurations of two equipment as well as communication equipment; and the two proposed sites in hydrology, geology and traffic conditions are investigated through analysis, determine the economic and technical comparison site location; finally, based on the front analysis result, each part of the design work of the substation, and at the end of this paper is summarized and prospected.
