In recent years, the excessive development of mineral industry has lead to lots of tailings and waste rocks as by-product in China.Therefore,the research on recycling and utilizing tailings scientifically and rationally has a social and economic value to the protection of the environment and the healthy development of the society in the long run..According to the research on the different replacement rate of concrete beam with tailing sand(0%,40%, 50%, 60%, 70%) and concrete beam with tailing sand at different shear span ratio(1.6 and 2.1),the paper analyzed the influence from a different replacement of tailing sand on the mechanical performance and the failure pattern of concrete beam.And we mainly studied the midspan deflection, stirrups strain,oblique crack cracking load and ultimate load of concrete beams. Through the simulation of ANSYS,we verified the correctness of the test results and how the shear span ratio and ratio of longitudinal reinforcement influence mechanical properties of concrete beam with tailing sand.Through the analysis on the measured data,we got the conclusion:1.Compared with ordinary concrete beams,the concrete beams with tailing sand obviously still has elastic deformation and diagonal crack cracking,tensile yield strength of stirrups and limiting failure intensity. The pattern of cracking and failure is similar to ordinary concrete beam. Based on the research of the tail sand concrete beam,it dicates that the shear performance of concrete beam with tailing sand decrease by increasing with the replacement rate of tailing sand and 40% replacement of concrete beam with tailing sand is the best on the shear performance.2.According to cracking shear and the relevant formula of ordinary reinforced concrete beam,we check the cracking load of inclined cracks and ultimate bearing capacity of concrete beam with tailing sand.And through linear-regression analysis,we find the formulas are applied to concrete beam with tailing sand at different ratio.3.Through the finite element software of ANSYS, it validates the conclusion of test is correct. Furthermore,with the ratio of shear span increasing,the ultimate bearing capacity of concrete beams with tailing sand decrease.Instead,the ratio of longitudinal reinforcement increase.
