Astronomy navigation that is traditional navigation method for positioning is the technology of figuring out the position of ship in the sea by using celestial bodies. Its positioning equipment is simple and reliable. Observation target is natural celestial body without the control of human. Positioning process does not cause any sounds,lights and radio waves,so astronomical positioning has the ability of concealment and anti-interference. However, since natural conditions, astronomical positioning could not be all-weather positioning. Long time-consuming, complicated process and low-precision are also its imperfection for modern navigation. The concept of applying special single-chip technology with astronomy navigation theory provides new ideas for the further development of traditional astronomical navigation positioning. The design of ship’s astronomy positioning calculator is a new important subject in perfecting the astronomical positioning. The ship’s astronomy positioning calculator not only solves the problem of positioning lag, but also shorts the positioning time, improves the positioning accuracy, and makes operation simply.Based on the technology of STM32 single-chip and the theory of astronomical positioning principle, ARM Cortex-M3 microprocessor has been chosen as the control core in this design, which could be in charge of data processing operation, calculating data and displaying of calculation. According to astronomical positioning principle, the thesis establishes three mathematical positioning models. They are single celestial body positioning, double celestial bodies positioning and three celestial bodies positioning. In this design, relative calculation formula can be used to process celestial positioning data and program the celestial positioning including error compensation. The calculator system modules, such as reference clock module, liquid crystal display module, serial communications module, capacitive sensing module, the key module, display interface module, have been completed and written into the single-chip. Program of solution of the dual a transcendental equation and error compensation also has been completed.Navigation positioning can’t rely on satellite navigation and positioning system completely, such as GPS system, Gallieo Satellite Navigation System or Beidou navigation system. With the application of science and technology in astronomy positioning and optimizing in the astronomical positioning theory development, astronomy navigation will be another effective complement for satellite navigation and positioning. When a failure in satellite positioning occurs, astronomy navigation calculator can be effective to ensure ship’s navigational safety.
