AMT technology had gradually improved in the field of civilian vehicles. But in the field of commercial vehicles, AMT technology was still in its infancy, and most vehicles adopt EPS to help shfit. However, pneumatic was not controllable and the sealing ring required regular maintenance replacement. To solve the problems of EPS, this paper put forward a new kind of maintenance-free portable shift system which was controlled and powered by electric. This system was suitable for commercial vehicles.Firstly, this paper introduced the development status of the AMT technology domestic and abroad. Secondly, this paper introduced the working principle of gearbox. Finally put forward the total design scheme of system.The main contents of this paper as following:Firstly, this paper designed the electronic control gear selection system actuators, then selected the selector stepping motor and it also designed main components. Secondly, considering of the requirements of 0.5s off-shift, this paper designed pre-pick shfit systems which could shorten the pick-speed travel and made it possible to finish off-shift within the stipulated time. Next, the paper designed the hardware circuit, including the power supply module, handles input signal, the clutch signal feedback system module. Used H-bridge circuit to drive a stepper motor, designed preventing a short circuit and stepper motor detection circuit which made the system more simple and stable; In the software control part, this paper designed the rotational speed of the stepping motor to achieve the goal of the system and handle the problems for unexpected situations that may appear during the shift, making the system more perfectly; Finally, this paper made the mechanical models, set up test stations and debuged electronic control system to verify the feasibility of this electrical shift design.By the research of the technology, it confirmed that the system was feasible. The transformation of the traditional manual transmission was successful. The design of pre-pick system resolved the problem of motor speed successfully. The design of power springs reduced the load sensitivity of the electric system. This study not only provided a good foundation in achieving commercialization from the EPS shifting to electric controlled and power shifting, but also provided a new method for electric control AMT transformation.
