Firing precision of multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) has been brought to attention of the various military powers in the world. The firing precision of the MLRS can be improved effectively by using the active control. The dynamics control system is mounted on the rocket launcher, the attitude of tube can be measured by using the IMU, the initial disturbance of rockets is greatly reduced by controlling the motion of tube with solid pulse thrusters, and the firing precision of MLRS can be improved. Based on the thought and National 973 program, a new kind of solid impulse thruster is designed to control the vibration of multiple launch rocket system in this paper. At the same time, the calculation and analysis of thermodynamics and interior ballistic characteristics have been done. Then the structure of solid pulse thruster is optimized by Multi-Island Genetic Algorithm. The main work of the thesis is as follows:(1) A kind of multiple nozzle solid pulse thruster has been designed considering the practical application. The thrust characteristics and the safety performance has been tested and checked. The results show that the solid pulse thruster conforms to the general design requirements.(2) The thermodynamic properties of propellant burning in the combustion chamber of pulse thruster has been calculated and analyzed. Then on the basis, the characteristic of the gas flow in the nozzle is simulated and the influence of shock wave and flow separation are analyzed.(3) The internal ballistic characteristics of pulse thruster has been calculated based on the results of the thermodynamic calculation. The research results indicate the model is reasonable to meet the interior ballistic performance, the influence of ignition charge to the internal ballistic performance must be considered in the phase of ignition.(4) The optimization model of solid pulse thruster is established based on Multi-Island Genetic Algorithm and the performance of the pulse thruster has been improved.
