With the continuous improvement of the ship automation, more and more alarm devices are arranged in the bridge, this should be able to improve the safety of navigation. Because of the variety and relative dispersion of alarm devices and the influence of ship manning, instead it increases the officer’s workload and mental pressure, and is not beneficial to the safety of the ship. In order to solve this problem, at the same time, improve the officer’s work efficiency and the ship navigation safety, this thesis studies the safety monitoring and integrated alarm system. The system concentrated displays all the alarm in the bridge according to the alarm priority, and has the function of alarm management. Through the cameras distributed in the key parts of the ship, the officer can visually, accurately grasp the situation in real time. For the ship in the disaster found confirmation, information access and berthing, collision avoidance, anti piracy, video monitoring system has played a very active role. Because of the advantages of video monitoring system compared with common sensors, thus it has been more and more widely used in the ship safety monitoring and alarm.First, through investigating a large number of data, this thesis introduces the development status at home and abroad and the development trend in the future of the safety monitoring and integrated alarm system, as well as the background and significance of the study, and makes the arrangements of the main study work.Then, this thesis carries on the overall design of the safety monitoring and integrated alarm system, including the basic concept, system function, logic consists, software architecture which includes system structure, the selection of development language, development tools and database, and software design patterns. Then, this thesis carries on the detailed design of the safety monitoring and integrated alarm system, including the system composition, function module, the logic processing and information processing, and completes the system’s development using NetBeans. In addition, in view of the special nature of the video monitoring subsystem, this thesis carries on the detail design of video monitoring subsystem independently, and completes the video monitoring subsystem’s second development based on NetSDK using VC6.0, and integrates the video monitoring subsystem program into the safety monitoring and integrated alarm system, so as to completes the integration of the whole system.Finally, this thesis researchs on bridge information overload theory, and according to related international standards puts forward the measures for reducing bridge alarm information overload, namely the construction of alarm information level model theory. Using the existing equipment and environmental of Engineering Technology Verification Lab, the system is verified by experiment. The result shows that the system can correctly display the corresponding alarm information according to alarm priority order and get real-time access to video information of the monitoring parts, and achieves the desired result.
