Subway Car Fire Detection Simulation Study Based On FDS

Subway is a kind of transportation. Once the fire happened, the smoke will be full of the whole subway car in a short time, the fire develop rapidly and the combustion will spread fast. Besides, it is easy to cause significant casualties and economic losses. So the installation of fire detection system in a car has a great significance of sending warning information early.The Fire Dynamic Simulator(FDS) software is used to simulate fire source position of type B subway car in Beijing. Its function is to get the changing rule of the temperature and the distance in different positions and seasons. According to analysis and comparison, it is obvious that the position of the fire has a great influence on safety evacuation of passengers when the air conditioning opens in summer,especially in the joints between the two carriages and the middle of the carriage near the door side are worst. Besides, it concludes that the position of the fire has greatest influence on safety evacuation of passengers when the air conditioning closed in other seasons, especially in the joints between the two carriages and the corners of the carriage.With the help of the ASPIRE 2 and Aspire SDS, the Fire Dynamic Simulator(FDS) software is used to simulate and calculate different layout of point and aspirating type smoke fire detector in subway carriage. Then it will get the fire detector alarm time of different layout scheme in different seasons. Through analysis and comparison, it can get the best conclusion of the best layout scheme of point and aspirating type smoke fire detector.According to simulating and calculating, the most harmful position for passengers in carriage, it can provide reference for the selection of fire position of subway carriage. Besides, according to simulating and calculating the best fire detector layout scheme of the point and aspirating type smoke fire detector in different scenarios, it can also provide reference for fire prevention of subway carriage.
