As a new kind of urban transport facilities, subway tunnels can avoid traffic congestions and jams. The seismic performance of subway tunnel is superior to ground structures. The current seismic design of subway tunnels mainly uses the method of dynamic time history because the high calculation accuracy and accurate, but at the same time it is hardly used in engineering seismic design due to time-consuming and complexity. Pushover analysis is a simplified calculating method which has a good accuracy and reliability, but there are still some defects.A two-dimensional nonlinear finite element calculation model of the subway tunnel is established in ABAQUS, Based on Pushover analysis method, the seismic response of subway tunnels is studied by improving the load mode, then compared with the result of dynamic time history analysis, the Pushover analysis method of subway tunnels is improved. The main content and achievements are put forward as follows:(1) Using the 2D consistent viscous-spring artificial boundary, the application of the consistent viscous-spring artificial boundary and the input of seismic waves are achieved in ABAQUS. Material nonlinearity and simulation of the dynamic contact for the interaction between soil-structure are introduced. These can lay the foundation for the static and dynamic analysis of metro tunnel structures.(2) Considering the soil-structure interaction, the 2D nonlinear finite element calculation model of subway tunnel is built for the seismic response time history analysis, and the seismic response under the effect of different seismic waves is studied.(3) Through making the static finite element calculation model, various loading modes of Pushover analysis are studied, reasonable failure criteria is determined, the comparison for seismic capacity curve between Pushover analysis and dynamic time history method is made.
