To research the flow field in tank power cabin, the influence of intake and vent grilles to the flow field and the improvement of the cooling performance and protective performance of tank power cabin are studied. The main contents of this paper include the numerical simulation of the flow field in tank power cabin and the aerodynamics optimization of intake and vent grilles.In the part of numerical simulation, the method based on Computational Fluid Dynamics is used to simulate the external and internal flow fluid of tank. The simulation methods and theories of fan and radiator are analyzed. The result of simulation shows the state and the details of flow fluid. This provides foundation for the analysis of the interaction of the external and internal flow fluid and the distribution of pressure and velocity. It is also the preparation for the improvement of the cooling and protective performance of tank power cabin and the optimization of grilles.In the part of grilles optimization, the genetic algorithm base on Kriging surrogate is performed to optimize the location and the shape of intake and vent grilles. The cooling and protective performance are evaluated by the pressure drop of the airflow that pass through grilles, the mass flow rate of radiator and the shrapnel incidence angle, respectively. Two data mining methods, Self-organization Map and Analysis of Variance, are applied to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the design variables and objective functions. The pareto optimal solution set is reference for the selection of design scheme, and the result of data mining shows the single and interactional contribution of variables and the influence law of eight design variables to four objective functions. It also reveals the contradictory and promotional relationship in objective functions. The significance of data mining lies in the simple and compact reveal of the high dimensional data, like design variables and objective functions, and this contributes to catch the main factors that influence design objectives most and to understand the design space. Meanwhile, this helps to the knowledge discovery and the experience accumulation about the grilles optimization of tank power cabin.
