With the development of the times, the intelligent transportation system plays an increasingly important role in the process of optimizing urban public transport. At present, some cities have intelligent-scheduling, automatic station for their bus system. The ZigBee technology is a sensor network technology with a close-up, low-cost, low complexity, low-rate. It provides new ideas for intelligent transportation system. Electronic bus-schedule is an indispensable part of the intelligent transportation system, which reflects convenient medium for intelligent transportation. However, some sites do not reserve any electrical wiring. If the sites adopt electrical wiring, large projects and high cost for ditching and wiring are required. To solve the problem mentioned above, in thesis a solar smart of bus schedule system is designed. The system is mainly designed on communication networks, electronic bus schedule, vehicle terminal and monitoring center. The communication network is a prerequisite for achieving the system function. It uses ZigBee wireless sensor network to detecte the bus pitted or outbound. And use GSM communication mode to achieve to share the information of the vehicle position.Electronic bus schedule for the system powered by solar energy, the bus schedule can dynamically display the information of the vehicle, and it can automatically broadcast messages of the vehicles. What’s more, it can communicate with other station and monitoring center to send the bus information. The electronic bus schedule uses the embedded ARM9 as the control center, and is based on the μC/OS-Ⅱ. In the paper, the ARM9-controlled of solar charging circuit was designed.And ARM9 achieve the controled of LED screen, voice module, and communication module. In the process of the solar power module realizated, in order to protect the battery, a modification of the three-stage charging method is adopted to chare the battery. What’s more, it can achieve the maximum power of the solar cell, and the charging efficiency can be improved. The vehicle terminal will be installed in the bus to complete communicating with the bus station and achieve the function of uploading information. When the bus close to the stop station, it can automatically complete displaying and voice broadcast the information.The monitoring center used Microsoft Visual C++6.0 as a development platform, and designed the system of intelligent bus schedule management softwaresolar. It communicated with the all of bus stops, and can collect the data of public transport vehicles. The processing of the received data can be dynamically displayed in the interface, and the data will be stored. According to the scheduling, the information will be published on the bus stop.The tested results show that Electronic bus schedule can ahcheive automatic broadcast and display the bus information for the passengers at the site. The vehicle terminal can also implement the functions of automatic bus stop repor and display. The monitoring center can display information of operating vehicle and send scheduling information. Therefore, intelligent public transportation system powered by solar energy has some practical value on bus intelligent management.
