The low pressure pipeline transportation is to meet the demand for high-spee d transportation. However, there are few studies in this area. According to the c haracteristics of pipeline traction, this paper gives two kinds of motor for low p ressure pipeline transportation:moving magnet DC linear motor and linear relucta nce motor, and two motors mathematics are established to further studies.Firstly, most DC linear motors have two disadvantages:short stroke and the cogging resistance. This paper gives a DC linear motor without cogging traction mode which is moving magnet type linear DC motor. Mathematical model from the aspects of the electrical and mechanical properties for the motor are established. We analysis the motor traction characteristics and influencing factors with Matlab mathematical software and Mawell3D electromagnetic software.Secondly, there is a brush on the moving magnet DC linear motor and the brush will limit the speed of the mover. In order to improve this shortcoming, a linear reluctance motor is given in this paper. we establish mechanical model and electrical model for the motor. With the Simulink software and Mawell3D electromagnetic software help, we simulation results of static and dynamic for the motor, and the influence of various factors on results such as capacitor voltage initial, core initial position, loop resistance and the charging capacitor. impact on the motor. On the basis of the simulation, the single-grade coil driveris changed to a multistage coil drive, and the simulation results are obtained.Finally, two models are designed for both motors. With experimental analys is and theoretical verification, we get the result of the experiment:two kinds of motors can work.Overall,two kinds of motors have good performance, and the structure of motors is similar to the structure of low pressure pipeline transportation. So we can apply the two motors to the transportation.but the moving magnet DC linear motor has a brush that limits the high speed train traction.Since the power supply system is more complex, the linear reluctance motor still need to research deeply at future.
