The main incentive of the phenomenon that Chengdu clay foundation pit slopes happen numbers of collapses is rainfall, and the infiltration depth is an important parameter. So how to determine the infiltration depth of expansive soil pit slops under different rainfall condition simply and accurately is an urgent problem, which is also the focus of concern to engineers.To study the infiltration depth of foundation pit slope under rainfall station with change of rainfall intensity, rainfall length and slope gradient, a large indoor model of remodeling Chengdu clay foundation pit slope was build, which size is 3.7m×0.8m×1.0m. Homemade artificial rain system, the moisture content of the test element and reading device were applied to the indoor model. To study the infiltration depth of undisturbed Chengdu clay foundation pit slopes under change of the rainfall condition, select a temporary slope in eastern suburbs of Chengdu West Town to build a large-scale artificial rainfall system. Then using SEEP/W software to establish a two-dimensional finite element modeling calculate depth of infiltration characteristics of indoor model and field test, and comparative analysis of the three results. After that, establish mathematical relationship of long infiltration depth with change of rainfall length, rainfall intensity, slope gradient, saturated hydraulic conductivity, and crack depth. Finally, the numerical simulation model and qualitative calculate model were used to example to verify the correctness of the model.This thesis studied the influence of the infiltration depth of Chengdu clay foundation pit slopes with the change of rainfall intensity, rainfall length and slope gradient permeability and crack depth:rainfall length has a great influence on infiltration depth of foundation pit slope, but as rainfall increases, its influence decreases; Little rainfall intensity have an impact on infiltration depth, heavy rainfall has little effect on infiltration depth; The slope gradient has no effect on infiltration depth of the hill slope surface, but has an impact on the slope vertical infiltration; permeability and crack depth are two most important factors in infiltration depth. At last, establish qualitative calculate method of maximum infiltration depth of a single rainfall and storm conditions, and verified by an example.
