In recent years, the bridge technology has got great development, also appeared a new bridge structure more and more. The extradosed cable-stayed bridge,a new type of bridge structure is developed in recent years. It is a kind of bridge structure form between the prestressed concrete box girder bridge and a prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridge, the span beam bridge can be extended. Because of the structure of superior performance and good structural properties of low tower cable-stayed bridge in the world, has been more and more widely used, but at present its design basically also are the theory of continuous beam bridge and the conventional cable-stayed bridge, the research of special theory is relatively less. This paper takes Yunnan Province in the construction of the province second extradosed cable-stayed bridge-- Ruili River Bridge as the engineering background of the bridge, the design parameters for this kind of bridge, and provide theoretical guidance to the design of this kind of bridge.First of all, this paper reviews the development course and current research situation of the extradosed cable-stayed bridge at home and abroad, describes the overall characteristics of the extradosed cable-stayed bridge, and points out that at this stage of the extradosed cable-stayed bridge the problems faced during the development. The key problems of the design of the extradosed cable-stayed bridge, systematically introduces the overall layout, low tower cable-stayed bridge structure characteristics, mechanical characteristics and its development prospect.Secondly, in order to build a low tower cable-stayed bridge, Ruili River Bridge as the engineering background of a real bridge, finite element computing model is set up by using the large-scale general finite element analysis software Midas/Civil, and the reference model for finite element analysis of the structure as the parameter analysis.Finally, based on the finite element analysis model of benchmark bridge bridge as the background, through the adjustment of different structure parameters, to calculate and analysis the different structure parameters of the extradosed cable-stayed bridge under the influence of stress and deformation, and draw the corresponding conclusions, obtained in this kind of bridge in different girder stiffness, length of non cable area side main span ratio, span ratio and the tower under the condition that the reasonable range of the extradosed cable-stayed bridge design parameters.
