Torque converter is a kind of the hydraulic components with liquid as medium, and is widely used in various vehicles, construction machinery and other fields. Its main characteristic is the adaptive abilities with step-less variable speed and variable load torque, which can effectively extend the service life of the transmission system. Hydraulic torque converter used in road vehicles is one of the key components of the passenger car automatic transmission, and directly impacts the transmission efficiency and energy consumption of the automatic transmission. Also, it is the most critical part of passenger cars with complex manufacturing process.Dynamic balance is the most important key process in the hydraulic torque converter manufacturing process, and is also a basic common problem which must be solved in the process. Its quality directly determines the performance,the service life of the product and the product quality. The dynamic balance measurement and calibration of products are often at the end of parts production process, and have too many complex working procedures. Its efficiency and balance performance will directly affect the final quality evaluation, the overall production efficiency and the cost control of the enterprise.The main contents and innovations are as follows:This paper based on the balance technical requirements analysis and combined with the basic principles of balancing. Comprehensively analyzed the several kinds of hydraulic torque converter balance test methods, made further analysis of the methods’ advantages and disadvantages.Combined with the balancing principle, analyzed the balancing principle of the torque converter. After determining the balance principle, focusing on describing the mechanical structure of the composition of balancing machines,hardware and software control systems, human-computer interaction design ideas.During the process of torque converter balancing test in passenger cars,used the balancing equipment with simulated single side rigid rotor. This methodhave a long testing cycle, a bad test precision and poor stability of the measurement results. Combined with the development of foreign passenger cars torque converter balancing equipment and technology, proposed the balancing two-way differential speed measurement method. This balancing test methods of internal and external components while rotating, under the state of using the passenger cars converter.In order to keep the the measuring accuracy of measurement system,studied the measurement principle and measurement model of bidirectional balancing test. Using this method designed the bidirectional differential speed balancing machine system. Compared with the common dynamic balance testing methods, verified the bidirectional dynamic balance testing technology has a significant effect on improving the balancing accuracy of torque converter.
