Automated Guided Vehicle(AGV) is a kind of intelligent handing equipment, which use battery as the power source and has the electric car features. Lead-acid batteries, nickel cadmium battery and lithium battery can be used as AGV power battery. Lead-acid batteries and nickel-cadmium batteries have many disadvantages such as low energy density, low cycle life, high self-discharge, and the pollution to the environment. At present, lithium battery as power battery is widely used in the AGV, electric cars, and other fieldsbe, because it has many advantages such as small volume, high energy density, high cycle life, no-memory effect, low self-discharge rate and friendly to environment. According to the requirements of the AGV dynamic systems design, developing a battery management system(BMS), to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the battery pack.This paper first introduces the research status of battery management system, analyzes the research of BMS research significance. Secondly, analyzes the two key technologies of BMS: parameter detection technolo gy and equalization technology. By comparing existing parameter detection means, integrated chip test voltage, NTC temperature measured using the bridge, Hall current sensor detects the current selection, using multi-channel bi-directional flyback transformer topology as the equalization of technical methods. According to the technical requirements of AGV systems design and implement control technology, detection technology and equalization parameters. Software development section focuses on the LTC6804 and LTC3300 drives writing ideas. Finally, according to the design of hardware and software designed to test, mainly for parameter detection and equalization, Test results show that the system can fulfil the design requirements.
