The comprehensive development of economy and technology makes Galleries increasingly dependent on natural light, but gradually, step by step, dependent on artificial lighting orientation. But this is absolutely a waste of natural resource, therefore making use of the natural light still has its important social and economic meaning. And for art museums, the lighting is the most important factor. Only does light and exhibits make perfect combination, all the design has its significance. Only does the two elements cooperate well, all the design makes sense. Thus, solving the problems the natural defects of natural light such as Ultraviolet light, the uneven illumination, secondary glare and so on, has become a priority. The design is a real project of mine and I participated in it in+0 studio, besides, it is to be built-Architectural Design of Arthall Gallery at Wenjiaosuo Square of Jiangsu. Due to changes in road planning, the entire program has last 3 years, and it’s time to finally ushered in its final word. The owners want the latest design and the original design in the site can complement each other and respond to the Museum of Art. And they hope it can take the advantages of the artistic of the gallery into full play, and at the same time enhance the core value of the site. The design of showcasing is naturally the most important part of the whole design. It requires analysis of vision, principles, distance from the known spatial prototype. The whole design must ensure the consistency of the total flow line, which is a basic requirement to ensure the smooth realization of the exhibition function. There are three exhibits photosensitivity categories:The first category is non-photosensitive material, such as little pottery, porcelain, coins, etc. These works of art is not easily damaged; second category is called general photosensitivity goods, such as a common sculptures, bamboo and so on, they need to meet such light condition that the value cannot exceed 180 lumens; finally category is called photosensitivity items, such as paintings on canvas, silk, etc., and the illumination requirements are very strict that the value must not exceed more than 50 lumens. Of course, these are all indirectly or directly related to the openings and orientation of windows. In this project the design is a typical museum lighting system. It took the top lighting mode with adjustable louvers to control the amount of light. After the light comes in, the fabric will remove ultraviolet light. While it will proliferate and reflect light rays. All of these is to ensure that the arriving light must be suitable for the requirement as the diffuse light of the excellent exhibition. While the photosensitive equipment always measures when the value of illumination is too low, the artificial light will automatically turned on.
