The Research Of The Windows’ Pattern In Su Zhou Garden

Using the garden’s windows and their patterns as the principle research subject, the thesis have a deeply understanding and analyzing on aesthetic value and social value, which are related with this subject. During the travelling in Suzhou, the author visited several gardens, studied at the City Museum, read a large number of literatures and publications, in order to get an intimate knowledge of the Suzhou Garden’s generation and development, included the historical background, geographical environment, nature and human, etc…The thesis took the windows’ pattern as the research object, emphatically described the style of the window’s patterns in Suzhou Gardens, meanwhile, it detailed the pattern’s model of window’s frame and grille. Furthermore, the author selected several representative patterns, intensively studied their modeling, composition and visual effects. Finally, according to some actual projects, the author analyzed the application situation of windows’ pattern in Modern Design, stated an extension creative design applied in the desk calendar.Currently, the author realized that there are few literatures issuing a specialized research on the windows’ pattern of Suzhou Garden. Most of the literatures were focus on the function description respectively, and they did not try to excavate the aesthetic value and ideology. Hereby, base on the rigorous scientific approach and exist documents’ reference, the author added an own understanding and perspective related with the patterns. Hope it can help the readers get a new and deeply perceiving about the windows’ pattern.
