Light Emitting Diode(LED) has the advantages of energy-saving, environmental protection, safety and long lifetime. It is a new generation of light source following traditional lighting. LED light source will become the mainstream product of lighting industry in the 21 st century. The development of LED lighting technology cannot be separated from the high efficient, high power factor, long lifetime and low-cost drive power source. But the power factor of driving power supply on the market does not conform to the national standard. Therefore, this subject has great theoretical and practical significance.This paper refers to a large number of literatures at home and abroad, comprehensively analyzes the development situation of LED, briefly analyzes the working principle and control method of many circuit topology and structure. This paper introduces the topology structure, control method and the inductance current control mode for technology. Systematically analyse to all kinds of working principles and characteristics. After analyzing and comparing of the main circuit topology structure and control method, this paper finally chooses the two levels of PFC method to design the LED driver and to calculate the component parameters of the main circuit and the control circuit. The former PFC technology use Boost Converter as the main topology structure and selects the L6562 as its controller chip; the post DC/DC converter using Flyback Converter as the structure and selects the UCC28810 as its controller chip. The paper designed two-stage active power factor correction LED driver with a load of 50 W.At last, set up the test environment, testing LED drive power supply module and analyzing the data. The power factor of circuit is improved obviously, which has met the design requirements, reduced the pollution to the power grid, verified the feasibility of the design.
