In the21st century, with the rapid increase of high-rise building, which makes the elevator demand more and more, safety and reliability have strict requirements for elevator. In recent year, the report of elevator which casualties and property demage is appeared frequently, in order to improve the sensitivity of fault detection, the elevator fault detection is a hot spot of international elevator experts research. Fault characteristics is deeply analysed in the elevator component structure, the related features and methods of chaos theory are applied, a new research method is provided that the chaotic model is combined with fault detection theory, the method is aimed primarily at fault characteristics in the permanent magent synchronous motor system to achieve elevator fault detection, which improves extremely high efficiency and precision of the elevator fault detection, the conclusions has real significanceand bright future.The main work and results of this thesis as follows:(1) the related references are searched and studied in this thesis, objective to sure the feasibility of the essay research, the research situation of fault detection is analysed, the method is provided that the chaotic model is combined with the fault detection theory to achieve the elevator fault detection.(2) The related theories and methods of chaos are discussed in the nolinear system. The permanent magnet synchronous motor system is a typical nolinear dynamic system, analysis of chaotic fault detection for motor system is the scope of nonlinear dynamic analysis. The structures and fault characteristics of all system are analysed in the permanent magent synchronous elevator. The feature is mainly used that chaos is sensitive about initial condition, the complex running states of permanent magent synchronous motor are analysed through the timing diagram and phase diagram.(3) The dynamic characteristics of permanent magent synchronous motor are studied in this thesis, the chaotic motion analysis model is built based on the traditional mathematical model in the permanent magent synchronous motor.(4) To ensure the normal operation of elevator, the operation signal of motor system is fed into chaotic model, the simulation analysis is done through MATLAB, four kinds of running state of system can be observed by simulating chaotic phase sequence diagram under the control parameters of chaotic model are changed,which can prove that chaos phenomenon is existed in permanent magent synchronous motor.(5) The control parameters of chaotic model tend to be stable in permanent magnet synchronous elevator system, the motor system is keeping the chaos motion state. When the system fails, the chaos running state can be simulated under the MATLAB simulation platform by changing the corresponding initial condition of the motor system fault characteristics.(6) According to the simulation results comparative analysis of different system, and the running state characteristics of chaos are discussed when the system fails, it is shown that the proposed method is effective and feasible to detect the elevator motor fault.(7) The last part summarizes the study of this thesis, and makes a prospect to the next research.
