The more wind farm connected to grid, the bigger influence on gridfrequency and peak modulation. How to implement effective control ofwind power output is vital for the development of wind power. In order tosolve this problem, the paper conducts the relative study on base of anactual project called "wind farm monitoring system function upgrading" ofa wind power company. Study the key technology of wind farm powercontrol and then a wind power control system is designed to meet therequirements of wind farm. The specific research content is as follows:Firstly, the system functional structure is studied and the process ofwind power control is analyzed from the wind turbine and wind farmaspects. Simulation model for power systems which contain wind farms isbuilt to study about the influence on power grid frequency by wind powerfluctuation, and shows that wind farm itself needs to have the frequencyadjustment ability.Secondly, the system core module which is the power control strategyis designed on basis of system demand analysis, including reference powersetting strategy and distribution strategy. And considerate the power systemfrequency adjustment requirement in its reference power setting module,and the reference power setting strategy is given in two patterns, includingthe normal mode and frequency adjustment mode, and the feasibility offrequency adjustment strategy is verified by simulation. In the powerdistribution module, an active power allocation strategy based on windturbine classification is proposed, and in this strategy, the wind turbineadjustion capacity is taken as the performance index to set up aprioritization of the wind turbines, which can control the wind turbinesoutput according to the prioritization. The example analysis with real wind farm data shows that the new strategy can satisfy the power gridscheduling requirements better than the average allocation strategy.Finally, based on the above research, the system overall design isconducted from software structure, interface design and hardware networkarchitecture, and the system design procedure is also gived. With theexperimental platform, the feasibility of the control strategy of active poweris verified and showed on the power control interface.
