In nowadays,the issues of traffic congestion has been problem needding to sol-ve inthe most of developed countries and developing countries. We can solve this problem byimproving traffic rules,reasonable panning the way and so on,but the most directly andmost effectively method is consider the vehicle and road both in, and planning the routewith high-tech technology to ensure the safety of driving. There are various of vehicalterminals in the car terminal market now,and the core of competition between them is thedegree of intelligent management system, the cost of hardware and the software function.As the requirements of intelligent traffic system gradually increase,the research anddevelopment of vehicle terminal which is fully functions,high performance and lowcost,development cycle shorted and easy to maintenance,upgrade is necessary.The combition of ARM and Anroid rival to the golden combition of Intel andWindow, it make full use of the ARM microprocessor with the characteristics of highperformance, low power consumption, strong stability, extend of the rich,and the Androidoperating system has the very good compatibility, portability, less devel-opment time,friendly man-machine interface, the advantages of the system mainten-ance and upgradesimply determines the car terminal in this paper adopts ARM+Android.Based on the function requirement and applicatios of vehicle terminal system inintelligent transportation system,in this paper,we have a detailed reaserch on hard andsoftware for embedded,and other technology.In the aspect of hardware,we analy-sis andresearch the processor S5PV210chip and its USB,touch screen and other extensioncircuit.As well as GPS+3G communication positioning function module,CAN buscommunication module, audio power amplifier module circuit design and PCB layoutdesign.In the operating system and software,the main research the tran-splantation andapplication development of the system. On the software side, based on in-depth analysis ofthe Android operating system architecture system,we built Fedora14+arm-Linux-4.5.1cross-compilation environment in this paper,and success-fully transplanted the Androidkernel into S5PV210, and changes and developed the platform of GPS,3G, USB hardwaredrivers and the other external device. On the applications side, we complete GoogleMaps combined with GPS navigation progr-am,3G network with the flexible use of the Androidopen source API interface fun-ction.
