In the last20years, with the highly development of advanced weapons, traditional activepositioning system is hard to apply in the battle field as for it is easy to be discovered anddisturbed. This article is based on a project and mainly do research on passive positioningand tracking technologies. A brief view of this article is shown below.(1) First, we mainly discuss two important passive locating technology Based on Multi-platform, which are TDOA and AOA. With discretely research on these two passive locatingtechnology, we come up with an improved AOA passive locating algorithm. Then, we discussthe AOA-TDOA associate locating technology which can improve the locating efficiency.(2) Based on the optimal angle theory, we come up with a new multi-sensor managementmethod. By establishing the optimal angle database, the system can automatically select twoplatforms and give the best estimation of the location of target which will highly improve itsaccuracy and efficiency.(3) Based on the technology of data fusion, the AOA and TDOA send the positon oftarget to the fusion center independently. Fusion center will use the method of sequentialfusion to estimate the state variables of target, which realize the function of tracking targetusing both AOA and TDOA position information.(4) We came up with the operation scheme of the whole multi-platform positioning andtracking system. With a series of simulation, we further confirm the availability of theoperation scheme. In order to present the simulation result, we using the theory above as thekernel of system and finally came up with the simulation software of multi-platformpositioning and tracking system.
