With the rapid development of our country’s economic construction, thedemand for rate monitor and control for powders, slurry, granules, liquid,aggregates is growing more and more, and the demand of the accuracy ismore and more. Loss in weight scale has been approved is a higher precisionand lower maintenance required solution, should will be used more and morewidely. So, how to improve the accuracy and response of the loss in weighsystem is a subject worth researching persistently.The thesis described the measurement principle and the design of theloss in weight rate controller. The thesis analyzed the structure of the weighhopper, load cells’ measurement principle and selection guide. In order toimprove the weight signal accuracy, the system use high accurate weightprocessor instead of traditional weight transmitter, the weight processorcommunicate with configuration software and MATLAB over Modbus TCPand OPC, most research time focus on algorithm of and controller andexperiment. The controller use Skogestad’s SIMC tuning method tuning thePI controller, Simulink control the loss in weight device directly, its followrate close to the set point, achieve the anticipated quality control goal.
