The Tunnel of Highway in cold region, its expose to the melting ice during thespring weather causing cracking in the inner lining layer of tunnel, breakingconcrete surface of tunnel structure due to ice melting water and other effects. These defects cause loss of tunnel functionality, which affect on the durability ofthe tunnel structure, these facts could be consider a seriously threat to the tunnelsafety, the existence of these defects in tunnels is very difficult to control. With therapidly developing of the Traffic infrastructure of China’s Western Highway, roadtunnels have been widely used in cold regions. Compared with previousconventional tunnel, tunnels construction technically in cold regions is difficult dueto sever or bad weather. Build tunnels in cold regions require effective way inconstruction process, after the completion of the tunnel and during the serviceperiod should avoid occurrence of freezing defects, tunnels in cold regionneed the technical ways to resolve these problems. For that purpose, in the field inspection depending on the outside informationof the tunnel, during days full of fog, Heilongjiang Province, Sui Man Road (GZ15)Wusonglin Tunnels and Tian hengshan Tunnel. The insulation field test and analysiswas carried out in this research. This study includes:1. The Cold temperature Features of the Tunnel Region2. Insulation Design of the Tunnel.3. Test and Analysis Tunnel Temperature in the Field.According to the test and analysis results, the engineering design staff of thetunnel in cold area recommended to setup the insulation of the tunnel against theeffect of the cold weather.
