Load model plays a very important role in the operation of the stability of the powersystem, the digital simulation and decision-making. Load model is one of the key factors indetermining the credibility of simulation results. In the analysis of voltage stability, loadmodel influences calculation results, inappropriate load model will make the calculationresults inconsistent with the actual situation, constitute a system of potentially dangerous orunnecessary waste. As one of the country’s largest enterprises grid, Shengli Oilfield grid ischarged with the important task for the crude oil production, the safe and stable operation isparticularly important. In order to use appropriate load model in stability simulation of the oilfield power system and reflect the real system operating conditions, load models andmodeling methods are researched, which has a great significance in the stability analysis ofoil field power system. In this paper, the characteristics of Shengli Oilfield load is analyzed in detail. The loadinclude the motor load, resistance load and rectifier load. The static characteristics of therectifier load have been mainly researched. By the equivalent circuit and data fittingcurves, the coefficients of static characteristics of the inverter-based rectifier load arederived. On this basis, load is modeled by componet based methodology and measurementbased methodology, and the results of voltage stability analysis shows that the appropriateload model can improve the accuracy of the power system simulation.Due to the special nature of the industry, the oilfield load modeling has been rarelyresearched. For the analysis of oil field power system stability, the results of this research havea very important meaning and a high practical value.
