Adaptive Front-lighting System(AFS) is that can change the lightingautomatically to adapt the changes in traffic conditions, is one of the latesttechnology in lamp lighting in the world, Composed by projector-typeheadlight, central rotating body,control system three major segments.There will be a "blind spot" at the inside corner because the traditionalheadlamps is fixed, which would greatly reduce comfort and safety duringdriving. In order to enhance active safety and driving comfort at night,many scholars have done a intensive study in AFS and use AFS on BMW,Mercedes and other luxury cars, but there is still a blank on the coach. Theapplication of AFS on the coach will be studied based on existing AFS. Inthe paper the projector-type headlamps and central rotating body will bedesigned, the control algorithm will be analysed and the road simulationwill be tested.In this paper, the working principle and structure of AFS will bedescribed and we will have a general overview of AFS.And the relationshipbetween headlamps lighting angle and steering angle, speed, pitch angle ofXiamen Golden Dragon XMQ6117Y3will be also analysed, The controlmode will be simplified to propose adaptive rotation law for coach.LucidShape is used to simulate projector-type headlight to meet therequirement of GB4599-2007, providing a reliable basis light body foradaptive front-lighting system. A central rotating body is designed so thatthe static projector-type headlamps will have dynamic and adaptive featuresof AFS. Stepper motor driving and control theory is also studied, whichprepare for the physical production. The study of AFS control algorithm tosolve when to work, when to close, when to adjust AFS is finished. LucidDrive is used to simulate results in this study based on lawsresearch,headlamp design and control algorithms. The test results areanalysed, which show that the AFS designed in this paper can enhancelighting intensity and lighting distance, provide a bright, comfortabledriving environment, reduce "blind spots" effectively,improve active safetydriving at night and have a certain reference value for application of AFS onthe coach.
