As the key infrastructure to achieve interactiveness in smart grid, electricityinformation acquisition system (EIAS) is responsible for the electricity informationcollection, management and efficient sharing at the power user side, which is thefoundation of the intelligent electricity service system. Concentrator is the hubdevice used to connect the master station of EIAS and smart meters at the user side,which mainly possesses data acquisition/processing/storing, upward-downwardrouting and other functions. Aiming at the backward communication protocol inEIAS and the poor interoperability among devices, an advanced concentratorpossessing good generality and interoperability is designed and developed in thispaper based on DLMS/COSEM specified in the international standard IEC62056,First, the function requirements of EIAS concentrator are analyzed, and thefunction configuration is planned.The overall technical scheme of the concentratoris designed. Ethernet/GPRS and DLMS/COSEM are selected for the upwardcommunication. RS-485/PLC and DL/T645protocol are selected for the downwardcommunication. ARM7microcontroller and μC/OS-II embedded operating systemare selected as the hardware/software platform. Then the hardware of concentratorare designed based on LPC2478, and the schematic diagram of the main controllerunit and the upward/downward communication units are given. Afterwards, theDLMS/COSEM is systematically analyzed, and the logical functional structure ofconcentrator is designed. The object-oriented COSEM model of concentrator isdesigned, and som typical interface classes in the logical devices are given. Giventhat the Ethernet and GPRS communication all adopts TCP/IP, the application ofCOSEM model on the TCP/IP network is analyzed. At last, the μC/OS-II embeddedoperating system kernel is transplanted, and the application software of concentratoris designed. The design process of some key software programs is presented. Finally,the prototype device of concentrator is developed. Various tests are taken inHeilongjiang province electricity metering institute, and the results show that thedevice meets the predetermined design requirements.The concentrator prototype has been used in Pinfang District, Harbin. Theresults prove its stability, accurate data transmission and the better performance. Theresearch work of this paper has certain significance for the EIAS construction andthe modern managemen of power enterprise marketingt in our country.
