| As global urbanization and industrialization accelerate, the climate warmingcaused by the emission of carbon dioxide has become a global issue. During thehigh-speed development period, the urban scale is expanding, urban population isgrowing rapidly, urban residential land is increasing and carbon emissions are soaringin China. And meanwhile, it starts research surges of low-carbon cities and residentialareas. Many low-carbon residential areas first burgeoned in some places, but there arealso many problems and related theories are not complete. Under such background,this paper studies the low-carbon urban residential area planning and design in China.1. Review major domestic and foreign research results of low-carbon residentialareas in the field of urban planning, conclude the standards and implementation offoreign low-carbon residential areas, and study the current development situation oflow-carbon residential areas in China.2. This paper conducts research on low-carbon urban residential area planningand design in China from the perspectives of site selection, residential scale, spaceorganization, traffic structure, low-carbon building, green space landscape and more.3. This paper studies low-carbon urban residential area planning and constructionapproaches based on the actual situation of China, and its implementation from theaspects of policies and regulations, economy and public engagement.4. This paper uses case study method to sum up the key experiences andinnovative methods in relation with low-carbon urban residential areas in China. |
