After nearly ten years of development and construction, Tianjin city has built alarge number of the concrete bridge structure and other public infrastructure. In thiscontext, how to ensure the durability of the concrete bridge ring Tianjin saltenvironment in northern area of Bohai Bay and prolong its service life, at the sametime provide durability for the concrete engineering practice experience of newlybuilt bridges, affect the infrastructure engineering structure safety and major technicalproblems for the community to provide the function of time, but also a major socialproblem of radiation Tianjin Bohai Gulf regional economic healthy development.The study of durability of reinforced concrete structure, is the study of highperformance concrete, the durability is an important characteristic of highperformance concrete. In this paper, combined with the current research andapplication situation of domestic and foreign the durability of concrete in highwayengineering, Tianjin city, State Road112line as the background, focuses on theresearch and proves the necessity of applying the durability of concrete. The mainworks are as follows:(1)Investigation was carried out on the water quality of the Bohai Bay region,providing reliable data on the mix proportion design of durability concrete. Taking thedamage detection of existing bridges in the Bohai Bay region as an example, thepaper studies and explains the importance of the durability concrete.(2)In the project of the highway G112, it’s the first time to use the method ofStratification to design mix proportion of the long-durability concrete, getting thelong-durability concrete more scientific and reasonable. In the aspects of concrete ofgrade and aggregate content, based on the principle of fuller, the method of designingconcrete of grade and aggregate content, which is using the0.5th power curve of thebest optimum aggregate, is provided innovatively.(3)Combining with the present application status and application situation at homeand abroad, According to the relevant statistics of durable concrete used for the StateRoad112expressway, because durable concrete is used, the consumption of landresources, the amount of cement and the emissions of toxic gas like carbon dioxidecan be reduced. Meanwhile, its use can create the higher social, environmental andeconomic benefits.
