With the rapid economic development and social progress of our country, theconstruction of distribution network has been receiving increasing attention, especially on reducing the fault risk and improving the safe operation of powerdistribution network.Traditional reliability analysis doesn’t take the probabilistic characteristic of faultseverity into account and operation risk assessment only uses limited operationcondition data. In order to make up the above insufficiencies, a scientific and propercomprehensive evaluation method of multi-factor influenced distribution networkfault risk was proposed, which would guide practical distribution network planningand construction. The research on comprehensive evaluation method of distribution network faultrisk can be divided into three parts:(1) With basic fault risk as a basis, accompanied with influencing factors such asweather, load and time, a comprehensive evaluation calculating method of distributionnetwork fault risk was proposed;(2) From the view of risk, an overall and proper index system reflectingdistribution network basic fault risk was established with the help of.AHP method, and then index weights and scoring criteria was determined with Delphi method;(3) Classification of fault probability, fault severity and fault risk that integratethe both was performed, in order to take risk response measures.Through case study, the effectiveness of this method in evaluating distributionnetwork fault risk was verified. Results of the computing example showed that thismethod could effectively evaluate distribution network fault risk, and indicate theweak points of distribution network, therefore providing a useful reference for theplanning and construction of distribution network.
