With the increasing of global motor vehicles, the impact of emissions vehicleexhausting on the environment is drawing more and more attention. In addition, theprice is rising and reserves is dwindling about oil. These all make electric cars becomethe study hotspot. At the same time, with the discovery of the new permanentmagnetism materials, the proposing of vector control strategy, and the developmentof power electronic technology and microprocessor, that make the research andapplication of control method about PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous motor)constantly improve, and more and more PMSM are used as the power source of theelectric cars, especially interior permanent magnet synchronous motor whose abilityof expansion speed is stronger. So the research of PMSM control system is of greatsignificance and practical value.This paper is mainly to complete the theoretical research of the vector controlabout PMSM, and designs the control system of PMSM. Based on the analysis andresearch of mathematical model a variety of vector control strategy about PMSM, thispaper determines that the control strategy of MTPA(maximum torque per ampere) ischosen below the base speed, and the flux-weaken control is chosen above the basespeed, and SVPWM(space vector pulse width modulation) is using in the invertermodule. Expounding the implementation methods of the control strategy, and the thecontrol strategy is given to prove the validity of through the establishment of controlsystem simulation model. Then building test platform to verify the controlperformance of the controller.Firstly, This paper introduces the development trend of the electric car, andexpounds the performance advantages of PMSM through the comparison of all kindsof motor and the categorization of PMSM. Through the analysis of the mathematicalmodel of PMSM under the dq axis, this paper introduces the vector control principleand various kinds of control strategy based on the vector control method. Secondly,determing the control strategy and the implementation method, introducing themeasurement of motor parameters that needed to impletent the control strategy, andanalyzing the SVPWM principle and implementation algorithm. In Matlab/Simulinkenvironment, this paper establish each model of the control strategy and simulate theSVPWM model and the whole control model. Finally setting up hardware systemwith TI’s TMS320F28335as the control core, and designing the software of the upper computer and the main control unit. This paper tests control system below or abovethe base speed on the dynamometer, and experimental results prove the feasibility andeffectiveness of the control system.
