With the rapid development of shipping industry, people had paid more andmore attention to the safety of ship. Ship power plant is the sum of all mechanicalequipment, which is produce, transmit and consume energy. It is the most part of theship, to provide enough energy for normal navigation of the ship and other each work.All kind of fault in the ship, about60%~80%failures are caused by the power plant,but the traditional fault diagnosis method is relatively backward, low efficiency, highlabor intensity and maintenance cost, so it is necessary to carry out the relatedresearch on ship power plant condition monitoring and fault diagnosis technology.Apply modern computer technology and embedded technology to the research of shipmonitoring and fault diagnosis technology, and a design scheme is put forward forship power plant monitoring and fault diagnosis system platform based on computerPCI interface. This thesis mainly focuses on the system design method and process,and the contents are as follows:The thesis introduced the relevant knowledge about ship power plant and faultdiagnosis technology, combined with the current domestic and international situationin this domain, analyzed the function requirements of ship power plant monitoringand fault diagnosis system platform, designed overall scheme of the whole systemand argues the scheme of each unit module.The system takes the industrial computer and cyclone III series FPGA controlleras the core to build hardware platform, including PCI interface circuit based onPCI9054, EEPROM circuit, FPGA control circuit,485communication interfacecircuit, CAN bus interface and Ethernet interface circuit. In order to realize thereal-time monitoring of running status of ship power plant, the system selectappropriate sensor set up monitoring circuit to measure important thermodynamicparameters such as temperature, pressure, speed and so on, and design a suitablesignal acquisition circuit to collect the data.A SOPC system has been developed in the FPGA controller based on Nios IIsoftware processor for control the operation of the while hardware platform, and useVerilog HDL language programming custom IP module with Quartus II development environment to complete real-time communication between the peripheral modules.PCI9054driver is designed on Windows environment using WDM driver model,realizing the plug and play function of the PCI device, and monitoring and faultdiagnosis application software is developed based on VS2008developmentenvironment. Finally, the thesis put forward a idea about ship power plant faultdiagnosis expert system based on neural network.
