The dynamic stiffness problem of the crane’s metal structure is gettingmore and more attentions. The dynamic stiffness could influence usability andservice life of the crane, but not directly as the static stiffness and strength. So,it’s an important issue to make in-depth studies on the dynamic stiffnessproblem of the crane’s metal structure. Study the dynamic stiffness first need tofully understand it, through a deep discussion over the development course ofthe dynamic stiffness problem, the paper summarizes its research status, and putsforward a new research direction and problems.Thanks to the rapid development of container transportation, the Quaysidecontainer gantry’s range of application is more and more wide. At the same time,the rapid developments of the ocean trade prompt the growth of the ports’throughput; accordingly require the improvement of the Quayside containergantry’s efficiency. In order to meet this condition, the metal structures of theQuayside container gantry are more and more big, the dynamic stiffness problemis more and more important. Compared to the normal bridge crane, the Quaysidecontainer gantry is more complicated on its structure, so its dynamic stiffnessresearch is more difficult.In this article, we take a real quayside container gantry as an example andmake a deep research on the dynamic stiffness problem of the quayside containergantry with the help of the ANSYS. In the research, we use the method of thecombination of witnessed inspections and model experiment. ANSYS finiteelement software is widely used. In this article it is mainly used to solve thenatural frequency of the quayside container gantry, and research the influencefactors of the dynamic stiffness.
