In recent years, energy crisis has always been a problem that human beings have todeal with, seeking clear energy is a key point for researchers. While with the rapidlyincrease of applications of WSN technology, the solution to its self-powering has attractedmore and more attention. The research on vibration energy harvesting based onmagnetostrictive materials has potential to solve both the problems.Firstly, the dissertation reviews the development history of magnetostrictive materials, introduces the advantages of magnetostrictive materials after the compare with the othermaterials and determines Galfenol as core to the research on vibration energy harvestingfor its better mechanical characteristics than Terfenol-D. A simple analysis to thedevelopment of constitutive models is made, while a detailed analysis to the Armstrongmodel is made and the constitutive model of Galfenol is established based on this, so thebase of the dissertation is constructed. The dissertation is based on the cantilever for the miniaturization of this structure ismore easy. The stationary analysis of the cantilever is introduced and the motion equationsof the cantilever under the force on the free end and the vibration on the fixed end arestudied. The stress distribution on the cantilever under different time can be get through theequations. Finally, the size of the cantilever is put forward, and the emulation of the two cases ismade. Combine the stress distribution under different time and the constitutive model ofGalfenol, the output voltages of the vibration energy harvester under the force on the freeend or the vibration on the fixed end are find. The results show that the peak of the outputvoltage is up to0.8V when the free end is subject to the sinusoidal force with themagnitude of0.1N at5Hz, and the peak of the output voltage is up to5V when the fixedend is subject to the vibration with3g acceleration at222Hz.
