With the rapid development of China’s economy and science, the highways linking betweenthe cities are constructed constantly.In China on the coastal areas of soft ground constructinghigh quality roads will more effectively promote national production and economicdevelopment.But in the process of constructing, due to the characteristics of the soft groundmakes us to face more and more difficult.The characteristics of the soft ground is a large watercontent, high compressibility, low shear.And after construction end,the foundation settlementwhichs is the potential impact of road normal using and transportation safely will be greaterhazar.In view of the above factors,before the construction of the road foundation,we must carryout lots of actual observation, obtain first-hand information for analysis and forecasting,calculatethe precise treatment program through the way at the present stage.So in recent year, the analysisof the soft ground settlement is a more far-reaching issue.Therefore, the calculation andprediction of settlement on soft ground has the far-reaching significance which will boost theeconomy and speed the road construction pace.First,the article comprehensive description of the soft ground subsidence calculation of thestatus at home and abroad,detailed derivation of the formula of foundation settlement andconsidering lateral deformation affected by the settlement, comparative analysis of thereliability of the forecasting methods based on observational data. According to the informationbefore the processing of soft and more uncertainties conditions,Gray system theory model couldpredict the foundation settlement, data with the prediction of subsidence in Tangshan-TianjinExpressway, This can compare prove and accurate reliability model, but the question must beasked is quite different geological conditions and around, In different geographical factors,wemust requires a lot of engineering practice and correction to more complete theoretical model,Finaliy implementation of the prediction methods to the project.
