Due to the fact that the short pier shear wall structures are widely used in the mid-highbuildings in our country but only in JGJ3-2010the descriptions about the definition andsimple requirement of this structure can be found, lacking the study of the short pier shearwall structures. Therefore, it is meaningful to improve anti-collapse design theory andregulations by analyzing the influence factors of anti-collapse ability of short pier shear wallstructures.Thispaperimitates thecollapseprogressoftheshortpiershearwall structuresandusesIDAanalysisto studytheinfluenceruleandcharacters oftheshort piershearwallstructures’parameters.Themain contentsand resultsaresummarized as follows:Based on the THUShell and Beam with Hinges Elements within theOpensees program, this paper constructs a short pier shear wall structure model which has affiliated node in itsend. The programming makes it possible to carry dynamic monitoring of the ineffective stateof each element during the analysis. And it alters the state of slave node and deletes ofheavilybrokenelements tosimulatethecollapseoftheshort piershearwallstructure.Taking above methods, this paper has imitated the collapse of short pier shear wallstructure of the16th floor. The results prove that: A more practical scene of the pier shearstructure collapse with more short pier shear walls can be imitated by the simulated method. And this method could judge the weak links of the structure accurately. In addtion, it is morereasonableto adoptsimulatedmethod ofcollapsetoimitatethedestructedprocess. The results prove that: The influence of reinforcement ratio, height-thickness ratio andaxialcompression ration onanti-collapsepropertyisdiscussed by doingIDAanalysis todifferent8th floor’s parameters of short pier shear wall structure. The anti-collapse capabilityof structure will decrease when the axial compression ration of the short pier shear wallincreases. When the axial compression ration of the structure is beyond0.6, it could not meetthe anti-seismic demand. When there is a need to raise the aseismatic grade, the axialcompression ration should not be over0.5. The anti-collapse capability of the structure increases gradually with the augmentation of the longitudinal reinforcement ratio of the shortpier shear wall. When the longitudinal reinforcement ratio is0.5%or0.8%, the collapse ratewill reach13%and7%respectively under rare earthquakes. When the longitudinalreinforcement ratio is1%or1.2%, the collapse rat will reach15%and7%respectively undergreat earthquakes. The reinforcement ratio should be designed to comply with thespecification limits. The anti-collapse capability increases with the increase of the height-thickness ratio of the short pier shear wall, but the increasing trend slows down with the riseofthe height-thickness ratio.
