System Design Of Broadband Grating Spectrometer

Grating spectrometer is an instrument that splits the light into several beams through adiffraction grating and then measures the spectrum by electronic sensors. It can beused for measuring the sample’s absorption spectrum to make deeply investigation forits properties, and it has a bright market future in food, medicine, industry productionand so on. Usually spectrometer can be classified to ultraviolet-visible spectrometer,near-infrared spectrometer andinfrared spectrometerby working wavelength. Forbroadband spectrometer, the wavelength is from190nm to2600nm,can cover thewhole ultraviolet-visible and near-infrared spectrum. Because of its widely testingwavelength, broadband spectrometer has stronger practicability than commonspectrometer.In domestic market, most of broadband spectrometers are imported from abroad, forexample Shimadzu UV-3600and PerkinElmer Lambada950. But imported instrumentsare usually expensive and hard to get support from producer in time. In order to usethe instrument, domestic customers have to pay more money and time. It becomesmore and more important and has much practical significance to develop our ownbroadband spectrometer.My subject is to study the design theory and engineering realization of broadbandspectrometer, find propersolution for encountered problems. In this paper, somecritical details about the design of optical system havebeen given out, for examplegrating parameters, aberrations of grating spectrometer and detailed parameters ofmirrors. And then discusses the mechanism design of broadband spectrometer,including double grating automatic switching device, light source automatic switchingdevice and double receiver automatic switching device. Finally the prototype is testedaccording to the verification regulations JJG178-2007which is a national standard forthe measurement of ultraviolet/visible/near-infrared spectrophotometers, andevaluates the key performance indicators of spectrometer.
