The displacement-based seismic design method is a prevailing research topic in the21stcentury, whose philosophy is to ensure the function of buildings to meet therequirements of users and society in different intensity of earthquakes. However, thetraditional philosophy of seismic design is only to ensure life safety, but cannot fulfillthe multi-performance objective of buildings. Accordingly, the research ondisplacement-based seismic design method of concrete-filled rectangular steel tube(CFRT) frame is of great theoretical significance and engineering application value. Themain contents of this dissertation are as follows:(1) The displacement-based seismic fortification goal and the quantitativeperformance indicators have been summarized, then the framework based on the designperformance of concrete filled square steel tubes performance levels and thequantitative performance indicators have been put forward.(2) Introduces the repaired concrete-filled rectangular steel tubular frame structureseismic design method based on displacement directly. Using this method to design atwelve-storey repaired concrete-filled rectangular steel tubular frame based on thedisplacement of the seismic.(3) The capacity spectrum of seismic design method of concrete-filled rectangularsteel tube frame has been discussed and the procedure of its application has also beenaddressed including the establishment of capacity spectrum curve and demand spectrumcurve, the determination in performance point, the evaluation of seismic performance onstructures etc. According to the capacity spectrum method, a case study for the aboveframe structure is verified. The research results indicate that the displacement-based seismic design methodof concrete-filled rectangular steel tube frame is simplicity, utility and convenientoperation; this method can not only realize structural designs in different levels ofperformances, but can permit control over the performances of structures underearthquakes of varied intensities.
