It is a new type of strengthening concrete columns that using transverselypre-stressed high strength steel strips. This method can impose active constraints stressto core concrete and avoid hysteresis which is a common problem existing instrengthening and improve the work of steel strips and concrete. It has broad applicationprospects because of its excellent material properties, convenient construction methods,low cost and better reinforcing effect. But so far it has been bank about studies on axialcompression force performance of plain concrete cylindrical column using transverselypre-stressed steel strips, in order to effectively promote the wide application ofpre-stressed steel reinforcement technology, the research on transverse pre-stressed steelreinforced concrete axial compression performance must be carried out.This paper introduces a test of axial compression force performance of23plainconcrete cylindrical columns using transversely pre-stressed high strength steel strips.Using steel strapping equipment for pre-stressed steel strip,the test studies steel stripslayer, space and concrete strength do influence on the constraints of pre-stressed steelstrips. Through the test get the load-displacement curve, load-steel layers (pitch)curve, load growth-steel strip characteristic value curve, axial compression ratioreduction factor-steel strip characteristic value curve. and analyze the ductility, peakload, failure process, failure modes of the specimen. The result shows that thereinforcement using transversely pre-stressed high strength steel strips can significantlyincrease the limit bearing capacity, stop the crack developing, improve the ability ofplain concrete deformation,and the result shows that the steel strips space does thegreatest affect on the limit bearing capacity. This paper puts forward the limit compressive strength calculation model and thereduction coefficient of axial compression ratio of plain concrete cylindrical columns,by analysis of test dates, reference the domestic and abroad calculation model ofconstraints concrete strength and applying theoretical knowledge. This paper proves thatthe reinforcement using pre-stressed steel strips is feasible and practical by combiningwith actual project.
